We've moved! Thanks for showing interest in Falcon Berger books - you can visit our new site here.  The material on this one won't be updated and may be out-of-date by the time you read this message.

"Always read something that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it."

- P.J. O'Rourke

We do all our design in house (book covers, typesetting, etc.) using free and open source software. The computers at Falcon Berger Towers are all running Ubuntu, currently version 12.04 LTS.

We make our book covers and other illustrations using a brilliant piece of vector graphics software called Inkscape. Inkscape is an open source package with similar capabilities to CorelDraw, and we heartily recommend it. We're also a big fan of another free program, the GIMP, which is great for non-vector graphics.

Most of the fonts we use on our covers and in our text blocks were created by the brilliant Ray Larabie. Many of his fonts are free for any use, and we think his Berylium font is great for typesetting books (you can use Amazon's Look Inside feature to see the interior of The Astronaut's Apprentice).
